BALEARIC ISLANDS, SPAIN
After the lockdown, when travel restrictions were imposed, this personal project of mine had the opportunity to become real.
I spent time hiking on the island of Mallorca, admiring all the scattered watch towers built during centuries along the coast line. All these watch towers, strategically built, as defense, as shelter to lost sailors, as basic communication between villages, still standing firm on the skyline, were remarcable.
I realized the importance of the architectural heritage we have on this island.
Only a few of the network of towers around the islands are shown here. Always set in special surroundings, on magic settings, breathtaking cliffs or close to the sea, they endure the inclemency of the weather. We should conserve them as a cultural heritage of the Balearics.
Requirements
Location and access to the towers, planning according to weather conditions and sea state. Research of their age, utility and importance.
Publications
One hundred 2020 calendars were carefully printed and delivered to exclusive owners.
