PALMA, MALLORCA
Once again, the waters of the bay of Palma hosted the different races of the Palma SuperYacht Cup over four days. This time, the starts were on compensated time, but this did not detract from the excitement and colour of the competition. The changing conditions, both in terms of wind intensity and variation, were the main feature of half of the days.
Requirements
The races were held in the waters of the bay of Palma, which is mostly located within controlled airspace, so the appropriate permits had to be requested in advance, in addition to making the necessary coordination with the control tower and the airport infrastructure managers.
Once the use of an auxiliary boat with a good skipper at the helm facilitated the take-off and landing manoeuvres as well as the monitoring of the races according to the participating classes.
